Teaching
Dr Brieley Cutting welcomes students to join her Studio who are dedicated to developing their skills, from beginner and school-aged students studying for AMEB exams, to tertiary and professional levels.

Brieley moved to Sydney in 2020, accepting the role of Lecturer in Classical Piano at the Australian Institute of Music. She has been teaching from her Studio on Ross St in Forest Lodge since 2023, her cohort including talented young players, students at UNSW and AIM, and professional musicians.

In 2024, Brieley commenced teaching from Hayes St Studio in Neutral Bay. This Studio is located steps from Neutral Bay’s ferry wharf and she shares this Studio with live concert events and other expert teachers of piano, flute, and violin trained at Yale University, ANAM, and the Juilliard School, all dedicated to fostering a future generation of performers and artists.
Aspects of technique, sound production and style are central to Brieley's teaching, alongside encouragement to develop individual musicianship and career pathways.

Brieley ultimately works towards her students becoming self-sufficient learners and achieving their goals. Her students have graduated with bachelor and masters degrees, attained AMEB Diplomas, and been prizewinners in piano competitions and eisteddfods. Her students regularly receive distinctions and high distinctions for their practical examinations.

Brieley has also guided students to audition successfully for acceptance into performance focused tertiary degrees, and she has assisted professional pianists and piano teachers to deepen their knowledge and skills regarding technical issues, interpretation, advanced repertoire and collaborative performance.
